![]() ![]() For Atraks the entire team is split in two, meaning you will only have 2-3 people actually active during each damage phase. A perfect example of this would be Atraks from Deep Stone Crypt. The answer, in my opinion, is that boss fights need to be designed so that a damage phase doesn't follow this formula. You won't have any reason to use anything different. If Bungie were to buff/debuff certain weapon types, whichever weapon has the highest DPS in this setup will be used instead. In other words, LFR + Div will always be the best weapons of choice so long as the boss fights all follow this formula. Aside from the fact that Well of Radiance is not as useful when you're forced to move, the rest of the damage phase uses the same strategy. These would be Golgoroth, Caretaker, and Consecrated Mind. ![]() It's fair to say that all of these raid bosses fall into this category:Ī couple of the bosses almost fit this formula except that they force your team to move during damage phases. Basically, the team performs mechanics for a couple of minutes to reach the DPS phase, and then everyone stands together in one place to shoot at a single large target for around 30 seconds. The reason why boss fights in raids have all turned into LFR + Div: The Game is mostly down to the fact that the majority of boss fights follow the same pattern for DPS phases. ![]()
